Xianc is a network counter. It can generate both numerical and graphical statistics. It's purpose it to monitor specific ports/users/..., for example all inbound data on port 80.

Xianc uses iptables to count and retrieve the number of bytes each rule generates. It then stores this data into a RRD database (see the links section). At any moment you can ask xianc to get the total transmitted bytes for your rule from the database, or even make a graph of it. You can specify you want yesterday's traffic, last month's or just any other interval you chose.

There are alternatives to xianc like bandmin but they aren't maintained anymore (as far as I know). Xianc is likely to get many new features, but that's for later.
